HARRIET IS A RECENT GRADUATE OF THE UNIVERSITY OF
ABERDEEN AND HOLDS AN LLB IN SCOTS LAW. WITH AN
INTEREST IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND HUMAN RIGHTS, HER
DISSERTATION ANALYSED JURY SELECTION AS A GUARANTEE
OF THE PROTECTION OF RIGHTS IN HIGH-PROFILE CASES, WITH A FOCUS ON HOW THE MEDIA AND LEGISLATION
INTERACTS WITH FUNDAMENTAL HUMAN RIGHTS IN THE EU
AND THE US.
DURING HER TIME AT UNIVERSITY, SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE

ABERDEEN LAW PROJECT, ONE OF THE FIRST STUDENT-
FOUNDED LAW CLINICS OF ITS KIND IN THE UK. SHE WAS

INVOLVED IN DOMESTIC ABUSE RELATED PROJECTS AND
CONTINUES TO CHANNEL THESE EFFORTS WITH HER
RESEARCH AT THRIVE CIC. FOLLOWING NUMEROUS WORK
EXPERIENCES WITHIN THE CRIMINAL AND SOCIAL JUSTICE
SECTOR, HARRIET INTENDS TO PURSUE POSTGRADUATE STUDY
IN THIS AREA IN THE UPCOMING ACADEMIC YEAR AND WOULD
LIKE TO CONTINUE HER WORK IMPROVING ACCESS TO JUSTICE
AND HUMAN RIGHTS THROUGH POLICY ANALYSIS AND
RESEARCH.
