Sexual violence against women and children reached all-time high in Brazil in 2022, The Guardian

Data published by the Brazilian Public Security Forum showed an increase in sexual violence against women and children in 2022, with reported rapes increasing by 8.2% to 74,930 cases in one year, and rape cases amongst minors increasing by 15.3%. 88.7% of rape victims are women and, shockingly, 61.4% are children aged 13 or younger.
