Nunu Diana Alison

Nunu is a social worker and development practitioner by profession, currently pursuing her Bachelor’s in Social Work & Administration at Nkumba University, Uganda. She is a youth, girls' and women’s rights activist who started her journey in 2012 working with South Sudan Women Empowerment Network (SSWEN). She has continued to champion girls’ education and founded the Keep Girls in School Initiative which mobilized about 2000 sanitary towels from friends and other stakeholders in 2015 and later distributed to school girls around Juba, and in the process, she mentored young girls across South Sudan to focus more on education as the only way to becoming sustainable leaders in their respective communities. She is the Founding Executive Director of Young Positives South Sudan (YPSS) a national Non-Governmental and not for profit organization which brings together young men and women living with HIV in South Sudan to promote HIV prevention, care and support services. Currently, Nunu is a member of the Secretariat of South Sudan Women’s Monthly Forum (WMF) on the Peace Process. The WMF is a coalition of women, bringing together women from all walks of life to discuss and share their ideas and activities on the peace process and peace-building efforts in the Republic of South Sudan. She is also the South Sudanese One Young World Ambassador.
