Gisela is an activist and lawyer from Brazil. Whilst studying law, she undertook a thesis entitled “The incompatibility of the criminalisation of abortion in relation to the human rights treaties ratified by Brazil”. As a practicing lawyer, she offers pro Bono services to gender based violence victims and is part of a project to empower women related to imprisoned people. Additionally, she is a member of a national movement to encourage the participation of women in politics.
She is also a She Decides Young Leader and the Country Coordinator of International Youth Alliance for Family Planning.
